Dr Alexandra Channer, Human Rights Consultant
Alex has almost a decade’s experience of working with clients on the responsible management of human rights risks. This includes a focus on issues ranging from ethical recruitment and labour rights, through to gender equality and child rights.
She has worked with clients in the consumer goods, food and beverage, farming, extractives, and consumer goods sectors. She is also a qualified trainer with Stronger Together, a multi-stakeholder alliance focused on tackling modern slavery. Areas of work include the development and implementation of human rights risk assessments, self-assessment tools and training programmes; the delivery of human rights-related communications; and the development of data-led ESG and human rights risk management solutions. Previously, Alex was Head of Human Rights at Verisk Maplecroft, before which she worked for eight years in Kosovo – including as a volunteer human rights defender. Alex has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
