Climate change, energy and water strategy for consumer goods company

We supported a client to update and align their climate change, energy and water sustainability strategies with the evolving science of climate change, as well as the evolution of their markets. Activities included:

  • Review and update of the client’s existing Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) model to generate carbon and water footprints and ‘hotspots’
  • Development, in line with the TCFD recommendations, of climate scenarios to generate insight into the client’s short- and long-term climate-related energy and water resource risks and opportunities
  • Setting, in line with the SBTI framework, of 2025 and 2050 Science-Based Targets (SBTs) focused on energy and climate-related impacts linked to the client’s direct operations (Scope 1 and 2) and supply chain (Scope 3)
  • Preparation of an updated Climate Change and Energy Strategy, as well as an associated roadmap to achieve the SBTs and address the risks and ‘hotspots’ detailed in the LCA
  • Identification of cost-effective emissions reduction opportunities and implementation strategies across the company portfolio, including offices, manufacturing operations and logistics
